Israel our Brother

Acts 15:22-23

Then the emissaries and the elders, together with the whole Messianic community, decided to select men from among themselves to send to Antioch with Sha’ul and Bar- Nabba. They sent Y’hudah, called Bar- Sabba, and Sila, both leading men among the brothers, with the following letter:

From:The emissaries and the elders, your brothers

To:The brothers from among the Gentiles throughout Antioch, Syria and Cilicia : Greetings

As believers in Yeshua we are brothers, whether Jew or gentile, we are called brothers. Now if we are called brothers in Yeshua, we must acknowledge that being brothers have nothing to do with who we are, but in whom we trust.

This letter was sent from the Jewish based fellowship “church” in Jerusalem to the gentiles, and they called them brothers. Remember that prior to being believers in Yeshua the Bible says the gentiles were without God. The love of Messiah brought gentiles, who believed in Him, into the Father’s house and made them brothers. For Paul said that it is the love of Messiah that compelled him as written in 2 Corinthians 5:14-19 For the Messiah’s love has hold of us, because we are convinced that one man died on behalf of all mankind (which implies that all mankind was already dead), and that he died on behalf of all in order that those who live should not live any longer for themselves but for the one who on their behalf died and was raised. So from now on, we do not look at anyone from a worldly viewpoint. Even if we once regarded the Messiah from a worldly viewpoint, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is united with the Messiah, he is a new creation- the old has passed; look, what has come is fresh and new! And it is all from God, who through the Messiah has reconciled us to himself and has given us the work of that reconciliation, which is that God in the Messiah was reconciling mankind to himself, not counting their sins against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

This is the reconciliation that Paul explained in Ephesians 2, reconciliation between Jew and gentile in the Messiah. Who in Himself made one new man, no more Jew or gentile. It is this reconciliation that Yeshua had in mind when He spoke from the cross and said in Luke 23:34 Yeshua said, “Father, forgive them; they don’t understand what they are doing.”….

Explanation. If we consider that the crucifixion was a sin offering for the world, that will herald in the new covenant validated by the Blood of Yeshua the Messiah. A covenant where Jew and gentle have been reconciled, and made one new man in Yeshua through His own Blood, the Blood of the Lamb of God. Yeshua asked the Father to forgive them for at that time they did not perceive that they are bringing an offering before the Living Elohim, in fulfilment of what Yeshua said in John 3:14-19 Just as Moshe lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life.”For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but rather so that through him, the world might be saved. Those who trust in him are not judged; those who do not trust have been judged already, in that they have not trusted in the one who is God’s only and unique Son.

The significance of the mentioned is that the people, Jews and gentile, who were looking upon the cross, did not perceive that Yeshua hanging on the cross, is the very Word of Elohim coming into fulfilment before their eyes, a new covenant as written in Jeremiah 31:31-34 (31) “Here, the days are coming,” says ADONAI, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Isra’el and with the house of Y’hudah. (32) It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers on the day I took them by their hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, violated my covenant, even though I, for my part, was a husband to them,” says ADONAI. (33) “For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra’el after those days,” says ADONAI:”I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people. (34) No longer will any of them teach his fellow community member or his brother, ‘Know ADONAI’; for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest; because I will forgive their wickednesses and remember their sins no more. Yeshua foretold what will happen, He knew it had to happen in accordance to the will of Elohim, when He prayed in Getshemane “not My will be done, but They will be done”. For even when Elohim called on Abraham to sacrifice his only son, it was a foreshadow of what Elohim planned to do, in order to set the world free.

For those of us, who perceived what happened on the cross, have this opportunity and the privilege to prayer for our Jewish brothers to receive the revelation of the cross. When we pray we must pray with an expectation that they will rejoice with us before Elohim, in the knowledge that through Yeshua we all receive forgivness and that there is no condemnation, as written in Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is no longer any condemnation awaiting those who are in union with the Messiah Yeshua.

Based on the mentioned, consider that Yeshua did not look back, for it is written in the book of Hebrews 12: 2 looking away to the Initiator and Completer of that trusting, Yeshua- who, in exchange for obtaining the joy set before him, endured execution on a stake as a criminal, scorning the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. He always consider the hope in the things to come. So again, when Yeshua prayed “ Forgive them, for they know not what they are doing”. He did not consider the deeds of the soldiers and the Pharisees, but considered the fact that they did not perceive that united as Jew and gentile they offered a sin offering “Sacrificial offering”, before Elohim so that in unity, united in Messiah they could receive forgiveness and eternal life, that is to know the one true God, and Him whom you sent, Yeshua the Messiah.

For the Jews, the account of Abraham called upon by Elohim to offer his only son, have a deeper meaning. Example “The ram hanging on the Sabek (a branche or a tree with two branches) mystically redeemed Isaac alone, while the Lamb of God hanged on the cross delivered the world from Death and Hell.” ” The plant called Sabek means ‘forgiveness’, it foreshadows the cross that forgives the world it’s sins and grants it life.” But they could not recognize the Lamb of God as He was crucified on behalf of our, the Jew and gentiles sin.

Again when Yeshua said: “ forgive them for they do not perceive what they are doing”. He was looking upon Jew and gentile, united in Himself although they did not perceive it.

We as gentiles have this privilege to pray for our brother as we ponder the Word as written in Romans 5:8-11 But God demonstrates his own love for us in that the Messiah died on our behalf while we were still sinners. Therefore, since we have now come to be considered righteous by means of his bloody sacrificial death, how much more will we be delivered through him from the anger of God’s judgment! For if we were reconciled with God through his Son’s death when we were enemies, how much more will we be delivered by his life, now that we are reconciled! And not only will we be delivered in the future, but we are boasting about God right now, because he has acted through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, through whom we have already received that reconciliation.

Be your brothers keeper, and build a hedge around them in love. The same love we received while we where in our sin.

Standing in the Gap for Israel

Standing in the gap for Israel, as we come in agreement with God’s Word as stated in Isaiah 62.

consider this :

God purposed for us to receive His mercy through His Son Yeshua the Messiah, so that we can show mercy to Israel by building a hedge around them, and standing in the gap for them so that they may receive God’s mercy as written in Romans 11:28-31

…. But with respect to being chosen they are loved for the Patriarchs ‘sake, for God’s free gifts and his calling are irrevocable. Just as you yourselves were disobedient to God before but have received mercy now because of Isra’el’s disobedience; so also Isra’el has been disobedient now, so that by your showing them the same mercy that God has shown you, they too may now receive God’s mercy.

We have been called to come in agreement with God’s plan as it is stated in Isaiah 62:1-12
For Tziyon’s sake I will not be silent,
for Yerushalayim’s sake I will not rest,
until her vindication shines out brightly
and her salvation like a blazing torch.
The nations will see your vindication
and all kings your glory.
Then you will be called by a new name
which ADONAI himself will pronounce.
You will be a glorious crown in the hand of ADONAI,
a royal diadem held by your God.
You will no longer be spoken of as ‘Azuvah [Abandoned]
or your land be spoken of as’ Sh’mamah [Desolate];
rather, you will be called Heftzi- Vah [My- Delight- Is- In- Her]
and your land Be’ulah [Married].
For ADONAI delights in you,
and your land will be married-
as a young man marries a young woman,
your sons will marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
your God will rejoice over you.
I have posted watchmen
on your walls, Yerushalayim;
they will never fall silent,
neither by day nor by night.
You who call on ADONAI,
give yourselves no rest;
and give him no rest till he restores Yerushalayim
and makes it a praise on earth.
ADONAI has sworn by his right hand
and by his mighty arm:
“Never again will I give your grain
to your enemies as food;
nor will strangers drink your wine,
for which you worked so hard;
but those who harvest the grain will eat it
with praises to ADONAI;
those who gathered the wine will drink it
in the courtyards of my sanctuary.”
Go on through, go on through the gates,
clear the way for the people!
Build up a highway, build it up!
Clear away the stones!
Raise a banner for the peoples!
ADONAI has proclaimed to the end of the earth,
“Say to the daughter of Tziyon,
‘Here, your Salvation is coming!
Here, his reward is with him,
and his recompense is before him.'”
They will call them The Holy People,
The Redeemed of ADONAI.
You will be called D’rushah [Sought- After],
‘Ir Lo Ne’ezvah [City- No- Longer- Abandoned].

to fulfil God’s promise as stated in

Ezekiel 36:24-28

For I will take you from among the nations, gather you from all the countries, and return you to your own soil. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit inside you; I will take the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit inside you and cause you to live by my laws, respect my rulings and obey them. You will live in the land I gave to your ancestors. You will be my people, and I will be your God

Based on the above mentioned promises God gave His people Israel, is it to much to ask for a people redeemed on account of the Love of God, to love Israel by stand in the gap to see the fulfilment of God’s promise for Israel.

Remember, the Words of Yeshua when He send His disciples.

Matthew 10:8 … As you go, You have received without paying, so give without asking payment

Why Love Israel

As we, while we were still in our disobedience, received the unmerit favour from our Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, through His Son Yeshua the Messiah. We also received the privilege to stand in the gap for our Jewish brothers and sisters, trusting that God will show them mercy as we received mercy through their disobedience as written in Romans 11:30-31 “Just as you yourselves were disobedient to God before but have received mercy now because of Isra’el’s disobedience; so also Isra’el has been disobedient now, so that by your showing them the same mercy that God has shown you, they too may now receive God’s mercy.”

We as the body of Messiah have a responsibility to stand in the gap for Israel, as we trust the Lord to bring in fulfilment what He promised, one new man united in Yeshua the Messiah. Ephesians 2:14-16 “For he himself is our shalom- he has made us both one and has broken down the m’chitzah which divided us by destroying in his own body the enmity occasioned by the Torah, with its commands set forth in the form of ordinances. He did this in order to create in union with himself from the two groups a single new humanity and thus make shalom, and in order to reconcile to Father God both in a single body by being executed on a stake as a criminal and thus in himself killing that enmity.”

Seed of Christ

Let us consider the first command that God gave man in Genesis 1:28

Be fruitful

Pronounce in Hebrew as paw-raw’, Strong ref #H6509 : Orig: a primitive root; to bear fruit (literally or figuratively):–bear, bring forth (fruit), (be, cause to be, make) fruitful, grow, increase.

The first command that God gave us was to bear fruit, not in the sense of multiplying but in the sense of a branch that bear fruit to the glory of the tree. God said that He created us in His image and in His likeness, and from the beginning we have been called to bear witness of that. Fruit that will bring glory to God. In Ephesians 2:10 we have been “re-created” in Christ Jesus to do the good works that God intended from the beginning. Likewise Jesus said that we will receive power from above to be a witness unto Him, it is the fruit that witness of the tree.

A seed produce after its own kind. When we sow a seed, we expect a harvest of what we sowed. Likewise, Jesus sowed with an expectancy to harvest what He sowed.

In considering the end of days when Jesus will come to harvest, we, if we want to be part of what is harvest, should ask ourselves what is Jesus expecting to harvest on the basis of what He sowed. For He said that He will only harvest that what He sowed. Jesus explained the harvest in Matthew 13:29-30 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’ Jesus said that at the end He will only reap that what He sowed.

If then we want to be within the harvest at the end, we must know what Jesus sowed so that we can produce in like manner. The question we need to answer, is what did Jesus came to do, we are not asking what He did, nor how He prepared the soil, but the question is what did He sow? Only if we can, with no uncertainty, know what Jesus sowed, can we know what He expect to harvest.

So what did Jesus sow?

In considering the Gospel, we read about the acts that Jesus performed. Miraculous signs and wonders, we read about His Words of guidance and how He trained the disciples, but what did He sowed.

To answer the question, we need to consider John 17:18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. The Father send His Son into the world. The word send is the same word used for sow. So we can paraphrase the word as the Father send (sown His Son as a seed) to produce fruit to the glory of the Father, so have we been send (sown by Jesus as a seed) to produce fruit, of the same kind, to the glory of the Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

The word used in Hebrew is Pronounce: shaw-lakh’, Strong: #H797 : Orig: a primitive root; to send away, for, or out (in a great variety of applications):–X any wise, appoint, bring (on the way), cast (away, out), conduct, X earnestly, forsake, give (up), grow long, lay, leave, let depart (down, go, loose), push away, put (away, forth, in, out), reach forth, send (away, forth, out), set, shoot (forth, out), sow, spread, stretch forth (out).

Jesus was send into the world with one purpose, to show the Father, but in particular to show the love the Father have for us. When the Father send (sown) His Son into this world the harvest He expected was the obedient love of a Son, that would accumulate to the point of saying “not My will be done, but Thy will be done” in order to show the love of the Father to the world.

Jesus the Messiah came into the world to show us the love of our Father. He talked about it, but then at the harvest time, He presented Himself acceptable, likewise the fruit for the harvest is not measured in growth but in the fruit it produce. In like manner, it is only once the fruit become visible that you can say that what was planted bear fruit. Jesus remind us of the mentioned in Matthew 21:19 NKJV And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away.

If we say that Jesus was sown (as a seed or branch) as a expression of the Fathers Love, and that He beard the fruit of love on Calvary. Then we must acknowledge that Jesus came as a seed sown by the Father to bear fruit to confirm the Fathers Love, and Jesus said that as the Father send Him as a seed, sow He is sending us as a seed to produce fruit that will witness unto Him just as He witnessed unto the Father. The fruit is a witness of the seed that was sown, the bible said that you will know them by their fruit. Matthew 12:33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.

Likewise the fruit that is visible in our lives will witness concerning the tree, the seed within. The Father gave us the promise that by the power of the Holy Spirit, if we submit, we will be able to produce fruit that will witness unto Jesus. The Holy Spirit is the seed that was sown into our hearts, that produce fruit to the glory of the Father and Jesus Christ. If the fruit as a witness of Jesus can’t be seen within the life of His followers. The messages of the Good News is without substance that can proof that the seed was sown. We can talk about the fruit that is produced by the seed, but we have no proof within us to witness concerning that seed.

Jesus came to destroy the work of the enemy, not by hating but by loving, He witness concerning the nature of the Father, that is love. Love, that is, sharing the love of the Father, as the weapon of choice. But love is like the bread and the fish, there is never enough until you start sharing. It is when we allow the love of Christ to be released through us, that it can be multiplied. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Even a very small light, bring light in the darkness. The way we live our life before people should witness about Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and the love of the Father demonstrated through His Son.

There is a true story told about a missionary who went to an island to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. As he tried to tell them the Good News, the people on the island said that they knew Jesus as he lived with them on the island, but he was not crucified, he died and they buried him. On investigation the truth came to light, a previous missionary send to the island, lived his life in such a way that they saw Jesus in Him.

In considering the testimonies of unbelievers who came to know the Lord through personal experience, what touched them, was the love of Jesus Christ. Love that forgave and embrace, a love that do not consider achievement, but surrender. If we want to be agents of change we need first to be transformed by the love of Christ so that we can bring change through love. We tend to look through eyes of success, a worldly perspective and think that people will follow because we represent success. But if we consider the bible, John the baptizer, did he represent success?. What about our Lord and Savior, did He represent success? If not, why did the multitude come to hear from Him, but only a few chose to follow Him.

When the disciples seemed to think that the time has come, and that the people are ready to receive Jesus as their king, a seemingly success story, Jesus refused and continue to proclaim the Kingdom. So the question once more, is the Kingdom that Jesus proclaimed a worldly view of success? No Jesus proclaimed that the Kingdom of God is at hand, or the Rule of God is at hand, how did it came about, through the ultimate expression of love, Jesus being crucified. The Kingdom of God is not about preaching but expressing God’s will, and that is love. Is not the greatest commandment to love the Lord thy God with all of your being and your neighbor as yourselves.

Prayer Evangelism

Examples of prayer evangelism

When Jesus called Lazarus out of the grave ( John 11:42-45 “I know you always do listen, but on account of this crowd standing here I’ve spoken so that they might believe that you sent me.” Then he shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” And he came out, a cadaver, wrapped from head to toe, and with a kerchief over his face. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him loose.” That was a turnaround for many of the Jews who were with Mary. They saw what Jesus did, and believed in him.)

The first great in gathering in human history had its origin, on the human side, in a ten days’ prayer meeting. We read of the small company of early disciples: “These all with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer” . The result of that ten days’ prayer meeting is recorded in the 2nd chapter of the Acts of the Apostles: “They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”, and “there were added unto them in that day about 3,000 souls”. That awakening proved real and permanent; those who were gathered in on that greatest day in all Christian history, “continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. “And the Lord added to them day by day those that were being saved”.

We went to Israel for we believed God send us there. During our stay we visited a place called “Shevet Achem” it is like a children hospital, were children and their mother are stay prior to heart surgery as well for recuperating after surgery. These children and their mother are muslems from Iran and Iraq. One of the mothers developed a tooth ache that was so severe that she could not help herself in crying. When Beulah saw her she immediately saw the opportunity for God to do something, and we all when to pray for her (she did not receive any medication). God used the opportunity, that He created, but needed us to see the opportunity and pray so that God in His majesty could work. She miraculously got healed, the pain stop immediately and she could feel the presence of God. The next day she asked to give her life to Jesus, and got baptised before her return to Iraq.

Prayer is the key to effective and creative evangelism.

John Wesley was convinced that “God does nothing but in answer to prayer.” This sentiment is amplified by E.M. Bounds who states: “God shapes the world by prayer. The prayers of God’s saints are the capital stock of heaven by which God carries on His great work upon earth.” (Billheimer 1975:102).

Jesus prayer life brought Him into a working relationship with His Father in which the Father told Him the things He was to say and showed Him the things He was to do. His prayer life brought Him divine wisdom and power — wisdom to know the will of God and power to bring it about. It is no wonder that we have no record of the disciples asking Jesus to train them to preach or teach but do find where they asked, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Prayer is the passageway to a living and working relationship with God.

It is through prayer that we grow in our knowledge of God and of our love for Him. It is through prayer that we learn the ways of God and receive revelation of His plans. It is through prayer that we are instructed and empowered by God to co-labour with Him to accomplish His kingdom purposes in our world.

Prayer Is the Verbal Release of Faith and Faith begins where the will of God is known.

The most important human factor in effective evangelism is PRAYER, Every great awakening in the history of the Church from the time of the Apostles until today has been the result of prayer. There have been great awakenings without much preaching, and there have been great awakenings with absolutely no organization, but there has never been a true awakening without much prayer.

We are privileged as we are called but the respond in taking up the challenge or not, is ours! Many are called but few are chosen, the chosen ones are those who answer to the call.

When we took the challenge we must not stop too soon or go too quickly, for if we stop to soon the enemy can come behind us and destroy what we have achieved. The strength of the battle is in our obedience to the Word of Elohim as in Zachariah 4:6 Then he answered me, “This is the word of ADONAI to Z’rubavel:’Not by force, and not by power, but by my Spirit,’ says ADONAI- Tzva’ot.

Do not go too quickly, but wait upon the Father as you trust in Him to move and accomplish the things required for the victory, but for this you will have to submit the will of the flesh in obedience to the Lord, a assurance of victory as in James 4:7 Therefore, submit to God. Moreover, take a stand against the Adversary, and he will flee from you. Be aware and alert to wait in faith!!! The Israelites were not prepared to wait for Moses the 40 days while Almighty God were preparing the legal document for His covenant with them. The result was that the whole process was aborted and many of them died as idolaters, choosing another god, a golden calf made by their own hands! This waiting is also called obedience, meaning we do not march without marching orders. Disobedience for a soldier in battle means certain death.

In the movie “The Four feathers” the real warrior, Harry, leaves the army in disgrace refusing to go to war in Sudan as he was on the point to marry the love of his life, Enid his fiancée. However this causes him to loose her respect. After serious introspection he decides to leave for Sudan on his own in a bid to support his friends. He manages to infiltrate and join the enemy. In his first battle contact charging the British army on horse back with the enemy, he saves the life of his friend! As a spy he also manages to save the lives of his other 2 friends. Not leaving for war when his friends did, caused him to actually save their lives.

There is a lesson to be learned in the mentioned film, for a warrior it is essential not to do the obvious but move in obedience to Almighty God. He alone sees the whole picture, a general do not divulge strategic plans to the troops prematurely. It cannot be over emphasized that this is the reason a warrior move only in obedience to the command of His commanding officer, the Almighty God.

2 Timothy 2:4-5

Accept your share in suffering disgrace as a good soldier of the Messiah Yeshua. No soldier on duty gets involved with civilian affairs, since he has to please his commanding officer. (CJB)

As warriors we move in obedience we do not succumb to the plans of people.

As warriors we must not stop too soon. When David killed Goliath he did not stop when the giant lay on the ground but he took Goliath’s own sword to cut off his head. We must always know that when we see the victory and it seems the battle is won we must hang in there and complete the assignment in obedience to the Holy Spirit. Be careful to think you have the victory before you actually do have the victory!!!

Over confidence and arrogance can lead to reacting in confidence instead of obedience.

In war terms there is a technique called an ambush when the enemy draws you into an area where he lies concealed in waiting to attack you. This is where we must be alert and obedient to Abba Father’s Holy Spirit. Humbly acknowledging that we are only more than conquerors in Yeshua the Messiah, more than overcomer’s in Him!

A true warrior lives by Rev.12:11 “They defeated him because of the Lamb’s blood and because of the message of their witness. Even when facing death they did not cling to life.

A Warriors Life

Yeshua is asking a question to every warrior. “are you My friend, willing to lay down your life?”.

John 15:13-17

No one has greater love than a person who lays down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave doesn’t know what his master is about; but I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, I chose you; and I have commissioned you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last; so that whatever you ask from the Father in my name he may give you. This is what I command you: keep loving each other

Yeshua said that a friend give his life willingly for a friend because he loves him. We as friends are so used to being a friend that we seldom remind ourselves of the reason we said yes, to Yeshua’s question. The love we once had became duty and the Friend we knew became our master.

I received this messages from the Lord in Revelation 2:4-5 But I have this against you: you have lost the love you had at first. Therefore, remember where you were before you fell, turn from this sin, and do what you used to do before. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your menorah from its place- if you don’t turn from your sin

I had to ask myself the following question, do I remember the One I surrendered my life to, the One I loved, or who loved me first. The One to whom I said I will willingly lay my life down for Him so that He can get the reward for His suffering.

The way we see God, to a large extent, determines how we relate to Him. To know the Bible, does not mean we know God or Yeshua the Messiah, it simply means we know about Him. Yeshua said that a slave do not know what his master is about. To know what God and His Son Yeshua are about is not to know the Word of God, it is to understand the Word of God. When Yeshua said that He did not come to abolish the law, but came to fulfill it. He said He come to reveal to truth of the Word, the heart of the Father.

So where do we start, how do you see God when you consider the Word of God. Does the way I see God encourage fear, reverence, obedience and service, or does it encourage love. We all know that we should love God, but do we really love Him? Not as a duty, but as life’s greatest pleasure and privilege.

It can be related to a marriage, when the husband look at the wife, or when the wife look at the husband. The reaction within determine the resulted action. If we see fear we react in obedience, if we see duty we act because we are obligated but if the husband and wife see love they react in love – I give myself willingly. As Paul said the love of the Messiah compels him.

God desires love, closeness, communion and intimacy. In Jeremiah 31:31 “Here, the days are coming,” says ADONAI, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Isra’el and with the house of Y’hudah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers on the day I took them by their hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, violated my covenant, even though I, for my part, was a husband to them,” says ADONAI. “For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra’el after those days,” says ADONAI:”I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will any of them teach his fellow community member or his brother, ‘Know ADONAI’; for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest; because I will forgive their wickednesses and remember their sins no more.

God said He will write it on our Hearts, the heart is an expression of love, He did not intend for us to know the Law only He wanted us to know Him from within our hearts, not from within our mind. God desires a relationship with us. The Bible says, God is love (1John 4:8) and love longs for intimacy.

Is our concept of love influenced by our culture or by Scripture? The media and our culture express love as an act of receiving. The Bible on the other hand express love through giving, “for God so loved the world that He gave”. A love relationship with God is not about receiving but about giving.

Love is emotional so even in our relationship with God we need to release the emotion of love as many saints have done through the years: Teresa of Avila prayed; “I am yours, you made me. I am yours you called me. I am yours, you saved me. I am yours you loved me. I will never leave your presence.”

God’s love for us is unconditional, forgiving, merciful and without limits. His love enables us to love, for it influences and purifies our love. 1Jn 4:19 We love because he first loved us. The closer we get to God the more impartation there is of His perfect love into our hearts.

Intimacy implies vulnerability, and sometimes we are fearful of allowing ourselves to be vulnerable because of the possibility of being hurt and disappointment that can come when we open our inmost beings to somebody, even to God. We fear being hurt, being rejected once we are seen for what we really are. One the one side our hearts yearn for communion, for belonging, for a sense of being ultimately safe, free from past guilt and future worries. Yet, we fear the idea of getting so close, and being vulnerable for rejection. Ironically, we fear vulnerability and yet it is when we stand completely exposed and naked before God, stripped of all pretense, honest about our sins, our needs, all defensive walls down, that we have the greatest experience of God presence and freedom to love.

A love relationship with God is an ongoing, growing experience. As our love for God intensifies our desire for more grows. Then, the more contact we experience the more we get to know about God and our love increases to the point where we desire communion, real deep intimate communication, which in turn strengthens our love.

When we view prayer as communion between lovers, many of the common questions about prayer becomes irrelevant. Questions like; Does prayer really work? How do I know God hears my prayer? Because the questions become irrelevant, for in relationship it is no longer a question of what I can get out of this communion, but a shared experience with the One you love.

Richard Foster said, “To be effective prayers we need to be effective lover. Intercessory prayer will never again be a duty, because I will be sharing the burden of the world with my Beloved. We will truly be partners in building the Kingdom of God.

A love relationship with God differs dramatically from a love relationship with another person. We can always count on God. Another human being can betray us, hurt us or fail to keep a promise or commitment. Not God. We need never fear failure, betrayal or desertion from God. Rom 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers, neither what exists nor what is coming, neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord

A warrior can only lay down his life for his Friend if he knows his Friend in an intimate way, laying down his life without expecting anything in exchange, but for his Friend to receive the reward for His

Offensive Warfare

“And I put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed. He shall crush your head, and you shall crush His heel.”
Genesis 3:15

The Hebrew word for crush/bruise is the same, in some translations the word crush is used and in others the word bruise is used.

Based on the fact that Yeshua is the Seed of the woman and we as believers in Yeshua is the fruit of the Seed. We become the Body of Messiah, Yeshua being the head. I would like you to consider that Elohim spoke these Word as a proclamation of what will come to pass through His only begotten Son.

John 3:16-19

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but rather so that through him, the world might be saved. Those who trust in him are not judged; those who do not trust have been judged already, in that they have not trusted in the one who is God’s only and unique Son. ” Now this is the judgment:the light has come into the world, but people loved the darkness rather than the light. Why? Because their actions were wicked

Based on John 3:16, Elohim did not plan to bruise the enemy, He planed for His Son to be victorious over the enemy so that those who trust in the victory achieved through the cross of His Son Yeshua will walk in the victory. He did not plan that they will be bruised, He merely said that the enemy will bruise His heel.

We are called to proclaim and enforce the victory achieved by Yeshua on the cross as He commissioned and anointed us to be His witnesses. The heel that is bruised is the part of the body that is at the back, or the part of the body that holds back. The part that holds back is like Gideon, before he became a warrior walking in the strength of Elohim. He trusted but did not enforce what he trusted, he held back, not releasing what he believed could be for Elohim was with them! They held back and trusted in idols, therefor the enemy could bruise them. However the moment Gideon took hold of the call of Elohim, as in Judges 6:14 “Go in this strength of yours and save Isra’el from the hands of Midyan. haven’t I sent you, the head of the enemy was crushed by the power of Elohim. Hereafter the enemy could no longer bruise them.

Yeshua explained that the enemy is coming against the Kingdom of Heaven trying to snatch it away from the people. Matthew 11:12 “From the time of Yochanan the Immerser until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been suffering violence; yes, violent ones are trying to snatch it away.“

In reaction to the potential thread Yeshua, commissioned His disciples to go into all the nations proclaiming the Good News that He already defeated the enemy on the cross of Calvery, and set their minds at rest with these Word in Matthew 28:“And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age” and in Mark 16:20” And they went out and proclaimed everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the message by the accompanying signs.”

In battle there is two primary strategies, defensive and an offensive strategy.

Matthew 4:3-11

“The Tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, order these stones to become bread.” But he answered, “The Tanakh says,

‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of ADONAI’”

Then the Adversary took him to the holy city and set him on the highest point of the Temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “jump! For the Tanakh says,

‘He will order his angels to be responsible for you….

They will support you with their hands,

so that you will not hurt your feet on the stones.’”

Yeshua replied to him, “But it also says, ‘Do not put ADONAI your God to the test.’”

Once more, the Adversary took him up to the summit of a very high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their glory, and said to him, “All this I will give you if you will bow down and worship me.” “Away with you, Satan!” Yeshua told him, “For the Tanakh says,

‘Worship ADONAI your God, and serve only him.’”

Then the Adversary let him alone, and angels came and took care of him”

Yeshua did not defend Himself as the Son of Elohim, on the contrary He proclaimed the truth of the Word. If then we consider that the Word is liken unto a sword, a weapon of offence and not defense. I believe the guidance we received from the Lord is to be offensive in our warfare. We should not defend the enemy’s accusations, for the enemy is well trained in the frailty of humanity who always try to defend, instead we should humble ourselves before Elohim,by submitting to Him and the truth of His Word as we proclaim His Word, resist the enemy and then like in the example set by Yeshua, he will flee. This process is explicitly stated as warfare in James 4:7 “Therefore, submit to God. Moreover, take a stand against the Adversary, and he will flee from you”

To hold back, is to be proud in oneself but to be offensive in proclaiming the truth is to be humble in the presence of Elohim and Yeshua the Messiah. For the Bible say in 1 Corinthians 15:28 “Now when everything has been subjected to the Son, then he will subject himself to God, who subjected everything to him; so that God may be everything in everyone.”

As warriors of substance submitting to Elohim, means absolute and total obedience to the Word.

As warriors of substance our strength is in our weakness, in submitting to the Word of Elohim as manifested in Yeshua the Messiah, while resisting the enemy, so that he will flee and Yeshua will receive the glory of His suffering.

For He suffered for a little while so that all things can be made subjected under His feet.

As written in Hebrew 2:8

“ You made him a little lower than the angels,

you crowned him with glory and honor,

you put everything in subjection under his feet. “

In subjecting everything to him, he left nothing unsubjected to him! However, at present, we don’t see everything subjected to him- at least, not yet. But we do see Yeshua- who indeed was made for a little while lower than the angels- now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he might taste death for all humanity. For in bringing many sons to glory, it was only fitting that God, the Creator and Preserver of everything, should bring the Initiator of their deliverance to the goal through sufferings. For both Yeshua, who sets people apart for God, and the ones being set apart have a common origin- this is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers.

As warriors of substance we are called to proclaim the victory of the cross in a offensive manner. We do not need to defend the truth, we proclaim it in subjection to the Word and in the name of Yeshua the Messiah.

Witnessing unto Yeshua the Messiah

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Ruach HaKodesh comes upon you; you will be my witnesses both in Yerushalayim and in all Y’hudah and Shomron, indeed to the ends of the earth! “

Yeshua said John 15:4 Stay united with me, as I will with you- for just as the branch can’t put forth fruit by itself apart from the vine, so you can’t bear fruit apart from me. Reason being – the branch need the food (power within) form the vine to be release in the growth and production of fruits. When we look again at the words in James 5:16 “… the earnest prayer…” means in the original Greek “energew” that originated from the word meaning to be active or efficient or effectual or to be mighty. But in the sentence it means to be at work within/put forth power from within – Prayer can thus be translated as : to release power from within in order to bear fruit in the likeness of the source. Reminding us of what Yeshua said to His disciples in Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Ruach HaKodesh comes upon you; you will be my witnesses both in Yerushalayim and in all Y’hudah and Shomron, indeed to the ends of the earth! “ Power meaning = dunamij meaning inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth. The mentioned is only possible once we have manage the art of abiding, abiding in the source that give us strength, the source of the power that need to be released. Abiding is the source of power of a warrior, so that the power of Yeshua can be released from within, giving glory to the source.

The Greek word for abiding, means to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy). In the sentence of us abiding in Messiah it relates to a relationship (state or condition) therefore meaning to remain as one, not to become another or different, to wait for or to await one. To abide then have a different meaning as we tend to think of, to abide means more to remain (to be part of) to the extend that I am no longer an individual but I became part of Yeshua the Messiah and therefore waiting on Him so that His power can be released through us, not according to the desires of the flesh but according to His righteousness and holiness.

Thinking about ourselves as the Body of Messiah, we cannot be separated from Messiah, we are part of Yeshua the Messiah – in fact we are the moving/doing part that react only on His command (Word ) that is released – we wait until we receive the command. Consider John 15:7 the meaning of “Word” came from the Greek word rhma meaning an utterance (that which is or has been uttered by the living voice). To become the instrument of pray we must abide until we receive the command and then in obedience release that Word/power within.

If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Once again just a reminder. Submission one to another with dedicated obedience will automatically cause you to be exalted to a position of authority. (Ponder on this, relating it to God and man, think about Yeshua and His Father). Yeshua said that He say everything the Father tells Him to say and that He does everything His Father shows Him to do. (That is to release the power of God working within us in an act of obedience)

Abiding as the secret to answered prayer, is to remain in the Source of our strength. The Lord gave us the Holy Spirit so that we will be able to always abide in Him. But abiding in the Source means to allow ourselves to be washed by the Word from the Source, as the Bible said in Ephesians 5:26-27 in order to set it apart for God, making it clean through immersion in the mikveh, so to speak, in order to present the Messianic Community to himself as a bride to be proud of, without a spot, wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and without defect.

In abiding (to remain as one, not to become another or different, to wait for or to await one) we must acknowledge that we cannot be indifferent from the One we remain in. There is One Source (Yeshua the Messiah) and all of us remaining in Him cannot be indifferent from Him we are all recreated in Yeshua to do the good works that God predestined for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 For we are of God’s making, created in union with the Messiah Yeshua for a life of good actions already prepared by God for us to do.

As the branch have been formed from the vine to produce fruit to the glory of the vine, so have we been formed in the Messiah, to produce fruit to the glory of His name and the name of the Father, doing that what God have planned for us to do. We can conclude that true prayer is not trying to persuade God to go our way, but learning to remaining in Him/or waiting on Him so that we can delight in going His way, producing fruit to the glory of His name and according to His will.

Whether or not our prayers are answered depend upon our position from where we pray, do we remain as one with Yeshua the Messiah or did we become indifferent to Him, do we wait on Him or do we do our own thing.

Yeshua said My Fathers House is a House of prayer, a true warrior is in agreement.

Consider the Seed of Potential

Hebrew 11:1

Trusting is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see.

In reference to faith, Yeshua (likened faith) unto a mustard seed. Luk 17:5-6 The emissaries said to the Lord, “Increase our trust.” The Lord replied, “If you had trust as tiny as a mustard seed, you could say to this fig tree, ‘Be uprooted and replanted in the sea!’ and it would obey you

But when I took a mustard seed into my hands, the size came to mind but what struck me the most, is not the size but the potential that is within that small seed. That seed as any other seed have something on the inside, which said that in the right condition it will produce a tree, or a flower, or whatever potential is laid within. The DNA of that seed is kept within, and it is the DNA that says that the seed have the potential to become what it is supposed to be, and you and I cannot alter that. If we plant a seed of a specific fruit, for example a pomegranate, that seed will produce a pomegranate tree that will bear pomegranates as fruit, it will not, nor can it, produce any other tree and bear any other fruit.

Yeshua came in order to remove the corruptible seed within man and replace it with the incorruptible seed. Based on the mentioned He made a statement about us, He said that we will be able to do what He did and even more because He goes to the Father. When Yeshua spoke these words He did not look at the potential of men but He looked at the incorruptible seed, the coming of the Holy Spirit (the DNA), within the recreated man. When the Pharisees said that Yeshua performs the miracle through Beelzebub, as a power within, He replied that if you blaspheme the Holy Spirit you will not be forgiven. In saying that, He acknowledged that the miracles performed where due to the potential within, the Holy Spirit.

As we have been recreated in Christ Jesus, we also received the same Holy Spirit, the incorruptible seed of God’s promise, waiting within us to be released to work the work of God through us. All we need is to be placed in the right condition like a seed so to germinate and bear fruit. The question then is no more about potential, but it is more a question of what is the right condition for germination.

When the disciples asked Yeshua about the sin of a blind man, Yeshua replied and said that the reason for his blindness is not due to sin but to bring glory unto God. In like manner Yeshua saw the potential to glorify God through Lazarus death. Peter and John also found themselves at a well prepared garden (The Beautiful gate), the soil perfectly prepared to bring glory unto God. When they passed the man crippled from birth, the Holy Spirit must have prompted them, saying this is it, sow the seed that God implanted within you and let it bear fruit to the glory of God.

If we look at the definition of faith again in context of the seed, we see it is the very substance within the seed that is the confident assurance of a product not yet seen. Again it is not the outer part that determines the outcome it is the substance within. Likewise faith should not be based upon the knowledge of the word but on the knowledge of Him that is within, the confidence (trust) in Him and His ability and not in your own inability.

Hebrew 11:6

And without trusting, it is impossible to be well pleasing to God, because whoever approaches him must trust that he does exist and that he becomes a Rewarder to those who seek him out.

We should walk as if we carry a bag of seeds that will bear precious fruit, but we must acknowledge that it will only bear fruit if it is sown in well prepared soil, soil that God in His wisdom prepared to bring glory unto Him. When the Holy Spirit shows us such a well prepared place we must sow with an expectancy that fruit will be produced to the glory of His mighty name.

Remember the seed that is within us as children of God in Yeshua the Messiah, is filled with all the required DNA – the same power that raised Yeshua from the dead, is working within us.

Consider the miracle of the loaves : Elohim can do a lot with a little, if you trust Him with all that you have.

Fellowship of Divine guidance

Being in fellowship with a loving Father through His Son Yeshua the Messiah – a fellowship of Divine guidance.

Looking at the Bible, God’s Word – we are never described as an object – we are described in a relational manner, being in a relationship. In relation to God the Father we are called His children. In relation to Yeshua the Messiah we are called His bride, His friends, His brother and sisters and we are called His servants. Prayer is the means by which we keep the mentioned relationship in tack, prayer is not just an act of worship, prayer is a relationship expressed in words. (Read Psalm 119)

When Yeshua said unto the disciples do not pray like the gentiles, He referred to the gentles knowing that they do not know to whom (relationship) they pray. He said to the Samaritan woman John 4:22-24 You people don’t know what you are worshipping; we worship what we do know, because salvation comes from the Jews But the time is coming- indeed, it’s here now- when the true worshippers will worship the Father spiritually and truly, for these are the kind of people the Father wants worshipping him. God is spirit; and worshippers must worship him spiritually and truly. “

Likewise when Yeshua said in Mathews 7:21-23 He referred to a relationship. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, only those who do what my Father in heaven wants. On that Day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord! Didn’t we prophesy in your name? Didn’t we expel demons in your name? Didn’t we perform many miracles in your name?’ Then I will tell them to their faces, ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!

What then is prayer? The Greek understanding of prayer was to strike a bargain with one of their idols! But Yeshua said unto His disciples pray not like the Greeks/gentiles who think that by their many words they will receive something. Prayer to the Greeks/heathens was a means of obtaining something from an idol. An idol was there for the use of the man, and there was no relationship involved just a means. But true prayer in the Biblical sense is to judge oneself in the sight of God, becoming aware of who God is. True prayer is therefore not to convince God to go our way, but to be convinced by God as our Father to go His way. Yeshua did not reason with His Father in Gethsemane, He opened His heart to a loving Father in simple surrender to His Fathers will, as we said true prayer is not to persuade God to do something, it is to be persuaded by God to do His will. (Like a father and a son, when the son wants to do something and the father know what is best, it is a dual conversation)

The starting point of understanding prayer is the knowledge of who God is, and our relationship to God as a loving Father. Prayer is not so much about us as it is about God and the establishment of His Kingdom, and we being instrumental in it – Looking at what Yeshua said we are labourers in God’s vineyard – we have only one objective and that is to be a good and faithful son/daughter. As children in the likeness of Yeshua the Messiah, there is but one objective and that is to please our Father, and as friends of our Lord we walk in obedience as ambassadors for the Kingdom of our Father we pray for our lost brothers and sisters to be reconciled through Yeshua to our loving Father.

What happened at the cross of our Lord Yeshua had an direct impact on our relationship to our Father, and to our fellowship with Him. We have been granted the privilege to enter into the very presence of God as our Father in the new Living Way, Yeshua the Messiah. The Bible say that in Messiah we have been recreated so that as we abide in Him we become children of God, in the knowledge that God as our Father had a plan from the beginning for us to bring in fulfilment to the glory of His name.

When Yeshua said that our Father know what we need, it is based on the relationship and our Fathers plan, likewise the indication that we do not receive because we do not ask is based on the lack of relationship. The Father knows what we need but give as we come into relationship with Him.

Looking through scripture we can see several images to describe the spirit of fellowship and togetherness as a family in Messiah. The first is “the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19; 1 Timothy 3:15), or “the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10). In God’s household, love and hospitality are to be the rule (Hebrews 13:1-2). Further, the church is depicted as the family of God on earth (Ephesians 3:15). God is the Father, and believers are his faithful sons and daughters. The life of God’s family is to be governed by love, tenderness, compassion, and humility (Philippians 2:1-4). Finally, the Messianic community is represented as the “one new man” or the “one body” (Ephesians 2:15-16). In spite of the great differences in the body, the Holy Spirit binds believers together into a single being (4:4-6). In this fellowship of love, no believer is unnecessary. Each member has been given gifts for the building up of the entire body. The prayer-life of the believers is founded in fellowship, fellowship with our Father and His Son Yeshua the Messiah (1 John 1:3)

Why are we afraid to have fellowship with God. Adam and Eve hid from God when they heard him approaching. God wanted to be with them, but because of their sin, they were afraid to show themselves. Sin had broken their close relationship with God, just as it has broken ours. But Yeshua, God’s Son, opens the way for us to renew our fellowship with him. God longs to be with us. He actively offers us his unconditional love. Our natural response is fear, because we feel we can’t live up to his standards. But understanding that he loves us, regardless of our faults, can help remove that fear so that we can start looking at God as a loving Father as we surrender ourself unto Him and His perfect will, regardless of our own inabilities for the Bible say that we have been recreated in Yeshua the Messiah so that through Him we can do the will of our Father.

Thinking about Moses and the Israelites in Exodus 20:18-20 When the people heard the thunder and the loud blast of the ram’s horn, and when they saw the flashes of lightning and the smoke billowing from the mountain, they stood at a distance, trembling with fear. And they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen. But don’t let God speak directly to us, or we will die!” “Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of him will keep you from sinning!”

Therefore we can conclude that prayer is a relationship with the one and only living God and for that reason God gave us His Spirit so that through His Spirit in the Name of the Son Yeshua the Messiah we may enter with boldness into His presence and cry “Abba Father”. Not for asking, but to be drawn into the relationship so that we can receive from our loving Father as we open our hearts in His presence, allowing Him to transform us into the image of His Son.
