We have been commissioned in 2004 to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The mentioned commission was based on the Word in Luke 14:23 “The lord said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Based on the mentioned commission we went behind the hedges in the following places. (South Africa – Ingwavuma 2 year; Mozambique – Bongu/Moatiese/Mutarara years3; Malawi – Ngokwe 2years; Uganda – Kampala 1 month; Kenya – Mombasa 1 month; Tanzania – Arusa 1 month). We also did outreaches to Swaziland, Umtata, North Cape.
The one thing we learned is that in places where the foundational teaching is not Biblical, there is no ongoing fruit. Based on the mentioned conclusion we started to focus on prayer based discipleship as a means of evangelism. The mentioned came from Bongweni in Mozambique where the fruit of the work is still visible.
Based on the prayer based discipleship we developed an introductory discipleship program to introduce the foundational concepts of our faith, called “discipleship a biblical pattern”.
The mentioned discipleship introduction, helps to explain the foundations but still lack the ongoing process of discipleship, and we experienced that false teaching could still influence individuals who have the foundation but lack ongoing discipleship.
Based on the findings and in accordance to what the Lord showed us over time, we developed the below mentioned prayer based discipleship program to assist in ongoing discipleship :
Call 300 – training warriors to stand firm in faith.
Sharing His Love – reaching the lost with the love of God.
Love Israel – training followers of Christ to walk in unity.
In order to assist in ongoing discipleship and to help preventing false teaching from creeping in, we started “The Upper Room Fellowship” as a prayer based fellowship based on the Acts church concept.
“The Upper Room Fellowship” unite those behind the hedges and those who willingly wants to participate (partnership) in a united prayer based fellowship, encouraging one another to continue steadfast in the emissaries’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
The El Shaddai Charitable Trust was started to facilitate the ongoing discipleship, based on the value of knowing God and His Son Yeshua the Messiah, as said in John 17:3 This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Yeshua the Messiah.
The discipleship is focused on bringing the disciples into a relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ as in 1 John 1:1-3 The Word, which gives life! He existed from the beginning. We have heard him, we have seen him with our eyes, we have contemplated him, we have touched him with our hands! The life appeared, and we have seen it. We are testifying to it and announcing it to you— eternal life! He was with the Father, and he appeared to us. What we have seen and heard, we are proclaiming to you; so that you too may have fellowship with us. Our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Yeshua the Messiah.
We call it “Prayer Based Discipleship” bring glory to the all Sufficiency of God as we look upon Him and His ability to do what seems impossible.
Peter and John prayed for the cripple at the gate beautiful, based on their relationship with Yeshua the Messiah. Yeshua touched the cripple man’s body and the hearts of the people who saw the miracle God did in the name of His Son. Like Peter and John we do not consider our own inability we rather consider Yeshua and His ability to do what He promised when He said whatever we ask in His name He will give so that the Father may be glorified through His Son. (John 14:13)
Instead of referring to ourselves and what the Lord has done through us, we rather want to glory in the Lord who said that He wants to show Himself mightily but is looking for instruments of faith willing to trust in Him and in His ability, so that Yeshua the Messiah will receive the reward for His suffering.
